These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the My Car Mentors website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by My Car Mentors ("My Car Mentors", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, booking a session, submitting a question, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@mycarmentors.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
2. Clients & Mentors
The Platform supports two primary roles. Clients seek automotive guidance and may book sessions, submit paid questions, track builds, and message Mentors. Mentors are independent experts who offer paid consultations and answers. Mentors are not employees, agents, or partners of My Car Mentors; they are independent contractors responsible for their own taxes, licensing, and compliance with applicable law.
3. Bookings, Q&A & sessions
When you book a live session or submit a paid question, you enter into a direct arrangement with the chosen Mentor, facilitated by the Platform. Session times, formats (video, audio, or chat), and scope are agreed between you and the Mentor. We are not responsible for a Mentor's availability, punctuality, or the outcome of any session. Rescheduling and cancellation are subject to our Refund Policy and any reasonable conditions a Mentor sets out on their profile.
4. Payments & fees
Prices are displayed before you confirm a purchase. Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Stripe and PayPal); by paying, you also agree to their terms. My Car Mentors charges a service commission on transactions, which is reflected in Mentor payouts. All fees are stated in U.S. dollars unless noted otherwise and are exclusive of any taxes you may owe. Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Refund Policy.
5. Mentor obligations
- Provide accurate credentials and represent your expertise honestly during verification.
- Deliver booked sessions and answer paid questions with reasonable skill and care, within the response times you advertise.
- Set your own rates and availability, and honor bookings you accept.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including those relating to safety, consumer protection, and tax.
- Not solicit Clients to transact outside the Platform to avoid fees.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose; (b) harass, abuse, or endanger another user; (c) post content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, or misleading; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other accounts; (e) upload malware or interfere with the Platform's operation; or (f) scrape, copy, or resell Platform content or Mentor information without permission. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.
7. Nature of advice & disclaimers
Guidance provided through the Platform is general, educational, and based on the information you supply. It is not a substitute for professional in-person inspection, diagnosis, or repair. Working on vehicles can be dangerous. You are solely responsible for any work you choose to perform, for verifying part compatibility, and for compliance with manufacturer specifications, warranties, and local regulations. My Car Mentors does not guarantee any specific result and is not liable for damage, injury, loss, or warranty issues arising from advice obtained through the Platform. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its design, logos, text, and software, is owned by My Car Mentors or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as photos, build logs, and questions) but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content to operate and promote the Platform. You must not use our branding without prior written consent.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Car Mentors and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, vehicles, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $100.
10. Suspension & termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or for prolonged inactivity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which My Car Mentors is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
